Christmas Wreaths - create the spirit of Xmas by hanging one on a door or wall

Wreaths are traditionally associated with Christmas, and a lot of houses display a wreath on their front door to welcome visitors to their home during the festive season.  There are many different types of wreath and you can spend a lot of money on one or buy a cheap one for less than £10. In fact you can even make your own Xmas wreath, but that will take up valuable time when you may be better getting on with other tasks in the build up to December 25.

Most people prefer to buy a ready-made artificial Christmas Wreath or a real one made from natural materials such as holly, ivy, berries, dried leaves and twigs.  You can get a lovely range of styles ranging from the very simple idea of just a basic green ring with Christmas flowers on it, to ones that are beautifully decorated with a range of ribbons, baubles and little presents.

You can buy a plain wreath and decorate it yourself.  The things you can use are wide and varied.  You can use wire to pin on a whole range of items from mini crackers and little toys to candy canes and sweets.  You can put on plastic fruit or little candle decorations or stars, or anything else that is associated with Christmas. Just make sure that you use strong wire or light objects so that they don't fall off when the door closes. Popular colours for Christmas wreaths are silver, gold, white, green, black and brown.

A Christmas wreath can also be placed on doors in the inside rooms of the house, as well as on walls, above mantelpieces and on windows in your home or conservatory. Some people like to hang Christmas wreaths outside their homes but, if you don't think yours will withstand bad weather, then hang it just inside the hallway so that your visitors can see it just as they arrive.

If you are the artistic sort and have time on your hands, you can go out and find some tree branches that bend slightly and make your own fresh Christmas wreath.  You can twist and bend them into a wreath shape and then hang a range of different decorations on it. You can use pine cones which you can cover in glitter or spray silver or gold. You can also pick holly to hang on it or other seasonal green plants like ivy or mistletoe.  You could use fruits such as oranges to add colour, or put ribbons on your wreath too.

Christmas wreaths have been around for centuries but they still add a touch of Xmas sparkle to any home. We have a great range of small and large wreaths from leading UK stores including Greenfingers, Tesco, Argos, Party Pieces, Ebay, Amazon, Festive Lights, Debenhams, Bhs, Homebase, B&Q, Marks & Spencer, Gardens & Homes Direct and John Lewis.
